CS Hawks FAQs

  • Who are we?

The Hawks Organization is a nonprofit dedicated to developing athletes in a competitive and positive environment. We focus on building strong fundamentals, promoting teamwork, and preparing players for the next level—while keeping the game fun and rewarding.

  • Why join a Hawks travel team?

Hawks players benefit from certified coaching, structured development, and competitive tournament play. Each team participates in 4–8 tournaments (varies by level), receives uniforms, and has access to training opportunities and facility resources. Additional perks include team insurance and GameChanger access for the season.

  • What is the cost?

Costs vary by team based on tournament schedules and apparel selections. A facility membership fee is required once a player is selected.

We work hard to keep costs manageable and encourage fundraising opportunities. As a nonprofit, all funds are reinvested back into the program. Need-based assistance may be available—please contact us for details.

  • What does Select Travel Baseball mean?

Select teams are formed through tryouts and consist of athletes competing at a higher level. These teams participate in tournaments against similarly skilled competition and focus on advanced player development.

  • Is playing time guaranteed?

All athletes will participate in each game, but playing time is determined by the coaching staff based on game situations and development goals. We encourage open communication between families and coaches.

  • Where are your facilities located?

    Hawks Athletics is located at:

    11800 White Creek Ave NE

    Cedar Springs, MI 49319

  • How long is the season?

The season runs from August through the end of July and requires a one-year commitment. Tournament schedules are determined by each individual team.

  • What is the difference between a coach and a team manager?

Coaches focus on player development, practices, and game strategy. Team managers handle communication, scheduling tools, and administrative coordination to keep the team organized.

  • How do I know the coaches are qualified?

All Hawks coaches are trained and certified through nationally recognized programs. Coordinators oversee hitting and pitching instruction to ensure consistent, high-quality development across all teams.
